Jaanika Juhanson, University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy
Jaanika Juhanson is a freelance theatre director, who in addition to directing in the professional theatres have also instructed enthusiasts. She is the founder and creative director of Terateater - an amateur theatre situated in North-Estonian Blind People´s Union in Tallinn. Right now she is working in the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy as a programme director of Theatre Arts and a lecturer of Performing Arts. She is also a chairman of Association of Estonian Directors.
Heading: Workshop "Pime teater"
Introduction: In the theoretical part of the workshop, the director Jaanika Juhanson will introduce Estonian first theatre of blind and visually impaired people called Terateater, that have already been active for over 3 years. Besides that, she will be talking about the pedagogy of theatre studies for blind and visually impaired people and discussing about the challenges and possibilities of making theatre with people with disability. In the practical part of the workshop, everyone can take part of an example class, where the work of voice as an element of theatre-improvisation will be used.
